the download manager isn't evil. and afaik it's the only way. i wouldn't dwell on it. it only deals with adobe stuff.

Honestly I'm blown away. I was actually kinda hoping that I wouldn't find it necessary upgrading as it seems like i JUST bought cs4 last week. The upgrade price isn't terrible though.

Thanks!

And what's your opinion on Adobe Lightroom?
I found myself using less and less Photoshop since I started using Lightroom.

lightroom is good for some things. but for others i need the power of photoshop. lightroom is good for basic colour correction, batch edits, sorting and managing your images, going through large shoots and picking good and tossing oof's etc etc. they are both tools and for me one can't replace the other-but at the same time for the hobbyist that likes to take a few photos while they're out and about lightroom could probly manage their needs just fine.

Guess you're right. Right now I'm using lightroom and only use photoshop for tweaking HDRs.
And since I started shooting RAW I found less and less the need for taking multiple exposures, it's impressive the amount of detail one can bring out of a shadow taken in RAW!

I'm curious about the famous healing tool though...

you have to watch that though. just because you 'can' pull a bit more detail out of a raw doesn't mean it's going to be very clean. there is NO replacement for proper exposure.
