Smile Alienware M11X

Hey guys!

I just saw that Alienware built a kick-ass netbook - ultraportable, capabale of running Crysis at 50fps, and still a 6.5 hour battery life or 2h on hardcore gaming. And all that for under 1000$.

So, what are your thoughts about it?

What do you think about it?

How well do you think it behave with photoshop and visual studio, besides gaming?

Is this a good solution for desktop replacement (connected to a regular sized screen / keyboard) and mobile computing (battery life and size)?

Seems too good to be true.

Does look nice and the spec looks pretty good plus the 6.5 hour battery life is great as most Alienware laptops must only last about 5mins

In my current laptop the battery only lasts for about 45min...
It's a Pentium Dual T3200 @ 2.00 GHz, 4 GB ram, NVidia GeForce 9300M GS 256MB. It's a nice machine but it is always super hot and the vents sound like an industrial vacuum cleaner.

The 1680 x 1200 screen on 15'' is a nice touch too...

My parents have a 4-5 year old Toshiba that gets about 3-4 minutes The power plug on the back of the laptop is loose, so you can be sitting there with it plugged in, and next thing you know the cord came loose and it's warning you that you have 3-4 minutes left.

Wow, that's not a bad rig for doing photoshop in the field. I wonder how much of the aRGB gamut the display supports. Something tells me it is only in the 75% range.

rumors of the dell mini11 seem to have the same setup
wonder if they are not going to have the discrete video on the dell, and discrete video on the alienware
