Default Best Disk Imaging Software?

What is currently the best out there? I've used Norton Ghost in the past, and it seemed to get the job done, but it's been a long time so I'm sure that there are probably other decent alternatives out there.

I plan on doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit, and once I get it set up how I want it, I will be putting a spare SATA hard drive in my computer and making a full image so I can easily restore it in the event of a crash/virus/whatever.

What do you guys suggest?

JL,

Have I ever steered you wrong?

I've tried Acronis and used it for Win7 early on. But Ghost 15 finally was released, and blows the doors off it!

You can even make a Ghost Image of a Drive without installing Ghost onto the image. You Boot off the DVD and do it from there. An awesome feature I used to do with DOS versions of Ghost before Symantec took them over.

Ghost back-up images are smaller (~20% as I remember) but Win 7 OSes grow quickly to be too large for even Dual Layer DVDs. So a separate Drive is the right answer (or Blu Ray Burnr if you are Flu$h )

But then what do I know...

I used the one included in Windows 7 and then Ghost 15 came out. So I tried that. Ghost 15 made a smalled image so if disc space is an issue Ghost 15 is better. Both methods worked well and I have recovered my system using both, so I know they both work. I personally like Ghost 15 better. It is easier to use for me, but that might be because I am used to it from using earlier versions for years......
