Got the new Studio 17 today. Woot!
This will take some getting used to, but I do believe I'm going to love it.

And in a few days, I will also haz a Windows 7 DVD. Turns out the first sales geek was wrong, and they don't let you download Win 7.
After a short, but heated, call to their Customer Support department, they're sending me one. Once I threatened to return the laptop, if they wouldn't live up to the promises made by the first guy I talked to, we made all sorts of progress.

So far, I'm loving it. About the only thing I wish it had was a card reader that can handle CF. The included one only does SD and that Sony (Mem Stick?) format. But that's minor. I can use a USB reader if I want to. Wireless-N really rocks, and that new Router is rock-solid.
Here's a quick snap taken yesterday

Yeah, the more I use it the more I'm liking it. I may end up installing some games on it to see if the video setup is up to snuff. I didn't buy the high-end card that was available since this is technically a work laptop, but...... we shall see.

Nah, got the default built-in "Intel HD Graphics".
It's an i3-350M, 4GB DDR3 1066MHZ, 17.3 in HD+ TL LED Display w/WebCam, 500GB 7200 RPM HDD, 8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive, Soundblaster X-Fi Hi Def Audio Software Enabled, Intel WiFi Link 6200-N, 85WHR-9Cell battery, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Getting 240 Mbps on the Wi-Fi card, on that DIR-825 using the 5 gHz N-Band. One of these days when it's nice and sunny, I'm going to talk a walk to see how far away I can get a good connection.
