So, when you turn it on all you see is the Asus logo? Do you see the screen where it reads your memory and detects your drives?

Just removed the battery and get the first screen showing installed memory and hard drive but can't get into bios setup

i have a funny feeling the hard drive gone which is going to be fun getting out as the heatsink is in the way so may try a phillips drill bit and a pair of pliers to get them out as don't fancy removing the heatsink

yea - typically boot/get to the bios, pull all hardware out except cpu, ram, video and work up from there 1 component at a time

At long last have my laptop up and running again which was down to the hard drive as just installed my new Western Digital Scorpio Blue and windows 7

it's true what they say about new hard drives it's like i have a new laptop as it's running a lot faster plus it's soooooooooooooo quiet
