AnyDVD
I have not been doing a lot of DVD backups of movies in a long while. Recently I tried to copy a few movies. I have the latest AnyDVD running, but they still come up saying the movie is copy protected, and wont allow a backup. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there something better out there? I was able to get around it, but it required more work. I used to like the old way. Just use CloneDVD with AnyDVD run in the background.

Tron,
Like you I haven't been doing this much lately. But AnyDVD CloneDVD always worked for me. Did you check out the Slysoft Forum for help?

No, I will do that. It just suprised me. AnyDVD never failed me in the past. I was thinking that maybe they came up with protections that AnyDVD can not handle anymore.....
THANKS................

We have a movie rental system over here called "Redbox". I think they are using some sort of protection that AnyDVD is not working with. I was able to use it to back up discs I own, but the last two I tried to copy from Redbox seem to have this trouble. The only reason I was copying these movies was because I rented them, and was not able to watch them right away. Thought I would just copy to a rewritable disc and watch it later. No big deal, I just have to make sure I have time to watch them when I rent them I guess.....

New: Option to disable Cinavia detection when using AnyDVD with ArcSoft TMT 5.3, TMT 6.0 or PowerDVD 12
New: Rip to image will create sparse files to reduce the size of required disc space and faster image creation
New (Blu-ray): Support for new discs
New (DVD): Support for new discs
Fix (DVD): Removing annoyances could make some discs unplayable Some minor fixes and improvements

I have backed up rebox dvd's before with no issues.
I like how clone dvd will let me creat a ISO of just the movie files to my pc. then I can either burn them to dvds later, or load them with a emulator and watch em on the pc.
Been using anydvd and clonsedvd for years now.
once in a while I would get a dvd that would give me some problems. late found out it was my dvd player giving out.
In linux I have used K9copy to back up dvds and it worked fairly well.
